Stunt Kites

Stunt kites are a great way to get interactive with a kite - by having two or even four lines connected to the kite rather than one line, the kite is more maneuverable and fun to fly. A common shape for these kites is a triangular "delta" shape with two lines for control. To control the kite, simply pull with your right hand to turn right, or your left hand to turn left. By using combinations of pushes and pulls, certain patterns or tricks such as dives and loop-the-loops can be achieved.

Stunt kites are usually larger than single line kites, and also much sturdier because of the speeds at which stunt kites fly. Although most standard kites fly best in winds from 8-18 miles per hour, these kites can be flown in stronger winds of 25 miles per hour or more. They usually have rods (spars) for added strength, although some are completely soft inflatable foil shapes. Most models can withstand crashes, forgiving enough for people of any age to enjoy flying kites for the first time. Entry-level stunt kites come in ready-to-fly packages, including lines, handles or straps, and full instructions. More information is available in our Buyers Guide.
